Boer goats

Boer goat is the premier meat goat breed developed in South Africa in the 1950’s but the breed dates back from the 1900’s when indigenous South African goats were crossed with Indian and European bloodlines. Boer goats commonly have white bodies and distinctive brown heads, pendulous ears, curved horns and strong short legs.

Goat  is a red meat but leaner and contains less cholesterol, fat, and protein than both lamb and beef. Depending on how it is cooked goat has a gamier taste than lamb or mutton. It is considered to be a healthier alternative to other types of red meat.
